Accessibility

We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. That means, among other things, working towards text that can be resized without breaking the layout, sufficient colour contrast, content that can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, meaningful alternative text for images, and a page structure that makes sense when read aloud.

Known limitations

We have not had this website independently audited, so this is a statement of intent rather than a claim of full conformance. Some areas may fall short, and we are aware that the following can cause difficulty:

• Some images may have alternative text that is less descriptive than it should be.
• Colour contrast may be insufficient in a small number of places.
• Content that expands and collapses, such as our frequently asked questions, may not announce its state clearly in every combination of browser and screen reader.
• Any document or third-party content embedded in the site may not meet the same standard.

Where we become aware of a barrier, we will fix it as part of our normal maintenance.

If you have trouble using any part of this website, or you need information from it in a different format, please tell us. Email [email protected] or call 020 8450 1220, describing the page, what you were trying to do and what went wrong. It helps if you can tell us which browser and assistive technology you use.

We aim to acknowledge reports within five working days and will tell you what we can do and by when. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise it under our complaints policy.
